South African businessman Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected unopposed as the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for a second term, extending his leadership until 2029. The announcement was made during CAF’s 14th General Assembly held on Wednesday in Cairo.
Motsepe, who first assumed office in 2021, retained his position after no other candidates submitted nominations for the presidency. In his speech following the re-election, he expressed gratitude to CAF member associations for their continued support and reaffirmed his commitment to developing African football and strengthening its global presence.
