A powerful explosion rocked the Syrian city of Latakia on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of 3 individuals and injuring 12 others, with reports of people trapped under the rubble.

The Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported that the explosion occurred in the Al-Ramel Al-Janubi neighborhood, and the causes of the explosion remain unknown.

The Syrian Civil Defense confirmed that emergency teams were dispatched to the scene, where search, rescue, and medical operations began in the four-story building that was destroyed.
