Syria Reopens Aleppo International Airport for Air Traffic

The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority has announced the reopening of Aleppo International Airport for air traffic starting Tuesday, March 18. The authority confirmed that the airport is now fully operational and ready to receive flights after completing all necessary technical and administrative preparations.

The airport had previously suspended operations multiple times due to ongoing conflicts in the country. Its reopening is part of Syria’s broader efforts to rehabilitate and reactivate its airports.

In this context, Ashahed Al-Salibi, Head of the Civil Aviation and Air Transport Authority, stated that there are future plans to resume operations at Latakia International Airport as well.

The reopening of Aleppo International Airport is considered a significant step towards revitalizing air transport in Syria, facilitating passenger and cargo movement, and supporting the local economy.
