Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Atti, confirmed on Monday that the reconstruction of Gaza, ensuring its recognition as an integral part of Palestinian territory, is essential for the success of the Egyptian plan.
In this context, the minister hosted a meeting with over one hundred ambassadors and representatives from international organizations, where a presentation was made on the reconstruction plan prepared by Egypt in coordination with the Palestinian government.
Abdel Atti pointed out that the plan focuses on solidifying the ceasefire in Gaza and enabling the Palestinian Authority to return to managing the sector through the establishment of an independent, non-factional committee to oversee Gaza’s affairs during a transitional period under the Palestinian government’s umbrella.
He also added that Egypt and Jordan have started training Palestinian police forces in preparation for their deployment to Gaza.
