Israel Confirms the Necessity of Resuming Military Operations to Free Hostages in Gaza

Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, stated that his country had no choice but to resume military operations against Hamas to free the hostages in Gaza.
Sa’ar explained to the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Ursula von der Leyen, that Israel had agreed to the proposals of U.S. envoy Steve Wittkopf to extend the ceasefire, but Hamas rejected them twice.
The Israeli army launched a new military operation in Gaza early today, resuming attacks after a ceasefire lasting nearly two months. The Gaza Health Ministry reported over 400 Palestinians killed in the Israeli airstrikes.
