The Lebanese Army announced today the implementation of strict security measures along the Lebanese-Syrian border following recent incidents in the area over the past two days.

In an official statement, the army said that Lebanese military units, in coordination with Syrian authorities, have begun enforcing security measures in the Hosh Al-Sayyid Ali – Hermel area in eastern Lebanon due to the deteriorating security situation.

The statement emphasized that the purpose of these measures and patrols is to maintain security and curb illegal activities, including arms smuggling, human trafficking, and unauthorized cross-border movements.

This development comes amid rising tensions in the border region, with recent reports of clashes between armed groups and illegal infiltration attempts. In response, the Lebanese Army has reinforced its deployment and tightened control over border crossings.
