U.S. Airstrikes Target Houthi Positions in Northwest Yemen

In the early hours of today, U.S. forces launched a series of airstrikes targeting sites in northwest Yemen, including the capital, Sana’a, and the Hodeidah province. According to media affiliated with the Houthi group, at least ten airstrikes hit areas under their control.

These strikes come after the Houthis announced last week that they had resumed attacks in the Red Sea in support of Palestinians in Gaza. The U.S. Central Command stated that the strikes aim to reduce the capabilities of the Iran-backed Houthis and prevent them from threatening regional partners, as well as military and commercial vessels in the area.

Local sources reported material damages from the airstrikes, though there is no confirmed information yet on casualties. Meanwhile, the Houthis vowed to retaliate, asserting that they will continue their operations against military and commercial vessels belonging to nations supporting Israel.
