Sudan’s state television reported on Thursday that the Sudanese army is close to retaking the Presidential Palace in Khartoum from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) amid a two-year-long war that threatens to divide the country.
The conflict, which erupted in April 2023, has pitted the army, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, against the paramilitary RSF, commanded by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), leading to a humanitarian disaster and mass displacement.
