Tunisian President Kais Saied announced on Friday morning the dismissal of Prime Minister Kamel Al-Madouri and appointed Sarah Zafrani Zenzeri, the current Minister of Equipment and Housing, as his successor. The presidency did not provide reasons for the decision.
This marks the latest move in a series of governmental reshuffles in Tunisia. In August 2024, President Saied dismissed then-Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani and appointed Al-Madouri to the position.
Zenzeri, a civil engineer by training, has held her ministerial post since October 2021 and is now the first woman to serve as Tunisia’s head of government under Saied’s presidency.
