A magnitude 5 earthquake struck the Natanz region in Isfahan Province, central Iran, on Friday morning, according to Mansour Foroush, Director General of Crisis Management in the province.
Foroush stated that the epicenter was located in the town of Badroud, approximately 5 kilometers from the city of Natanz, and that the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers below the earth’s surface.
In response, 10 search and rescue teams were deployed to the affected area to assess the damage and provide emergency support. As of now, no significant casualties or property damage have been reported.
Iran is located on several active seismic fault lines and frequently experiences earthquakes of varying magnitudes, some of which have caused severe destruction and loss of life in the past.
