Military sources told Reuters that Sudanese army units had entered the presidential palace in Khartoum from the east, before Sudanese state television and military officials confirmed that the army had taken full control of the compound.
Sudan’s information minister said: ‘Today the flag was raised over the presidential palace. The march will continue until victory is complete.
The development marks a major step in the army’s ongoing military campaign to retake the capital from the RSF. The conflict, which began in April 2023, has led to widespread destruction, mass displacement and the collapse of state institutions.
