Heathrow Airport, one of Europe’s busiest air hubs, resumed full operations on Saturday after a massive fire at a nearby power substation caused a complete power outage and airport shutdown the previous day.

The incident led to widespread disruptions in global air travel, forcing airlines to delay or cancel numerous flights and reroute thousands of passengers. Emergency and maintenance teams worked overnight to restore critical systems and ensure operational safety.

In a statement, airport officials said the fire caused significant damage to a key power supply station, resulting in a temporary halt in services across the airport.

Authorities have launched a technical investigation to determine the cause of the blaze and prevent future occurrences. Flights resumed progressively through the early hours of Saturday, with full capacity restored later in the day.
