José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, the head of Spain’s High Council for Sports, revealed a plan to increase the number of stadiums hosting matches for the 2030 World Cup in Spain to 13.
The plan includes adding the “Nuevo Mestalla” in Valencia and “Balaídos” in Vigo to the current list of 11 stadiums previously submitted by the Spanish Football Federation.
This expansion aims to distribute the economic and social benefits of hosting the 2030 World Cup across various regions of Spain. Uribes also emphasized that this step is not just a sports project, but part of a national vision aimed at boosting development in different cities.
