Egypt has proposed a new plan to restore a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which stipulates that Hamas release five living prisoners, including an American-Israeli, in exchange for allowing humanitarian aid to enter and a one-week ceasefire by the Israeli occupation. In return, the Israeli occupation would release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
Egyptian security sources confirmed that the proposal includes a timeline for the release of all prisoners in exchange for the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation with American guarantees.
For its part, Hamas responded positively to the proposal, despite the Israeli occupation’s violation of the ceasefire last week.
