The talks between Russian and American officials began on Monday morning in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to the Russian news agency “TASS.”

These talks aim to normalize relations between the two countries and discuss efforts to end the Russian war on Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced last Thursday that discussions between Russia and the United States are expected to continue at the expert level in Saudi Arabia in the coming days, with a possible meeting early next week.

Peskov confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump discussed the need for such talks and the potential representatives for each country. However, he stated that the Kremlin is not yet ready to disclose the identity of the Russian representative.
