Venezuela Reduces Public Sector Workdays to Tackle Water Crisis

Venezuela announced reducing public sector workdays to three, aiming to address water shortages threatening hydroelectric power due to severe drought.

Starting Monday, government institutions will operate for four and a half hours daily, from 08:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Due to climate change impacts on the Andes reservoirs, a “1×1” work system will also be implemented, featuring a workday followed by a day off.
