NetBlocks, an internet observatory group, reported early Tuesday a nationwide internet outage across Syria, affecting multiple cities and confirming widespread reports of communication disruptions.
“The network data indicates a country-level internet outage in Syria, corroborating reports of a communications blackout in several cities,” NetBlocks said via its official channels.
No immediate statement was issued by Syrian authorities explaining the cause or expected duration of the outage. Social media users reported loss of mobile and landline services in key cities including Damascus, Aleppo, and Homs.
