Yemen: Over One Million Children Suffer from Acute Malnutrition on the Tenth Anniversary of the War

More than one million Yemeni children are suffering from acute malnutrition, according to UNICEF.

The organization published a report on Tuesday, March 25, highlighting the tragic situation for children, pointing to the ongoing threats from airstrikes and unprecedented rates of malnutrition.

UNICEF’s representative in Yemen, Peter Hawkins, stated, “We need to act quickly.”

The tenth anniversary of the war comes amid increasing humanitarian and political complexities, with UNICEF’s funding for activities barely exceeding 25%, amid warnings about the difficulty of maintaining even the minimum essential services.
