A stabbing incident occurred near Dam Square in the southern part of the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, with police reporting at least five injuries.

Three of the victims, including two elderly individuals, were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Local media reported that the police established a security cordon around the area and promptly arrested the suspect. The motive behind the stabbing remains unknown.
