The Sudanese army announced on Friday that it had achieved a strategic victory in the capital, Khartoum, confirming its complete recapture of the city after a week of reclaiming the presidential palace in a massive assault against the Rapid Support Forces.

According to army spokesperson, Nabil Abdullah, Sudanese forces succeeded in eliminating the last strongholds of the Rapid Support Forces militia in Khartoum locality, marking a new development in the ongoing conflict between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has been raging since April 2023.
