More than 50 Injured in Fire at Nursing Home in Northern Germany

More than 50 people were injured on Saturday due to a fire that broke out at a nursing home in the Hanover-Neustadt area of northern Germany, according to police reports.

A spokesperson for the German police stated that three of the injured individuals are suffering from serious injuries.

The reports indicated that care workers noticed the fire breaking out in one of the rooms of the nursing home in the afternoon.

Firefighting teams announced that they were able to prevent the flames from spreading to other rooms; however, other parts of the building were damaged due to smoke infiltration.

The firefighting teams reported that the nursing home houses approximately 100 residents, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
