Moldova Expels Three Russian Diplomats for Assisting Pro-Kremlin Lawmaker

Moldova has expelled three Russian diplomats, accusing their embassy of aiding a pro-Kremlin lawmaker in escaping imprisonment.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry announced the decision today via Telegram, stating it was based on “clear evidence of activities contrary to diplomatic status.”

Chisinau declared the trio persona non gratae after alleging the embassy helped the convicted lawmaker flee to Transnistria.

In response, Russia stated it would take “appropriate measures” following the expulsion.
