In a swift response, the Malian army carried out airstrikes near the Algerian border, targeting groups described as “terrorist,” allegedly supported by Algeria.

The Algerian government summoned its ambassador to Mali for consultation, and the Algerian Foreign Ministry has not issued any official statement yet, indicating rising tensions between the two countries.
