The Civil Defense in Gaza announced on Sunday night that at least 44 Palestinians were martyred in a series of intense Israeli airstrikes across various areas of the Gaza Strip, marking one of the deadliest nights since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023.
According to a spokesperson for the Civil Defense, the airstrikes “targeted populated homes and areas densely filled with displaced civilians.” The number of martyrs is expected to rise as rescue teams continue recovering bodies from beneath the rubble, particularly in Rafah, Khan Younis, and central Gaza City.
Medical sources reported that the majority of the martyrs were women and children, while the healthcare system is facing a total collapse due to severe shortages in medical supplies and prolonged electricity outages.
These strikes are part of the ongoing Israeli military campaign that has so far led to the martyrdom of over 50,000 Palestinians and the injury of tens of thousands more, amid a crippling humanitarian crisis and the absence of any ceasefire agreement
