On Thursday, China issued an apparent rebuke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who claimed that Beijing is aware of its citizens fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian urged “relevant parties” not to make “irresponsible remarks.”
The comments followed Zelenskyy’s assertion that he has evidence of at least 155 Chinese nationals deployed to support Moscow’s invasion, adding that Ukrainian forces had captured two Chinese citizens.
