Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara Arrives in Turkey to Attend Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara arrived in Turkey on Friday morning to participate in the 2025 edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which this year is being held under the theme: “Advancing Diplomacy in a Divided World.”

The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported briefly that President Al-Shara had arrived in Turkey to take part in the high-level forum, which hosts broad international participation and addresses pressing political and security challenges in the region and around the world.

Earlier this week, the spokesperson for Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Ömer Çelik, announced that the Syrian president would visit Turkey on Friday to attend the forum.

This marks President Al-Shara’s second visit to Turkey since assuming office. His first visit took place in February, when he traveled to the capital Ankara and met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan—a meeting that was described as a step toward a new phase in bilateral relations between the two countries.

Al-Shara is expected to hold diplomatic meetings on the sidelines of the forum with several international leaders and officials, amid growing regional efforts to rebuild dialogue and strengthen political and security cooperation across the Middle East.
