Egypt has received an Israeli proposal for a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in preparation for potential negotiations to end the ongoing conflict, Cairo News reported on Monday.

According to informed sources, Egypt has delivered the proposal to Hamas and is awaiting a response “as soon as possible,” though no further details were provided about the contents of the offer.

In a related development, Hamas official Taher Al-Nounou stated that the movement is ready to release all Israeli hostages in exchange for a full ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
