UN: Over 400 Killed in Rapid Support Forces Attacks in Sudan’s Darfur Region

The UN Human Rights Office reported Monday that over 400 people were killed in recent attacks carried out by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Darfur region, citing “credible sources,” according to AFP.

Spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani stated that the UN team in Sudan has so far confirmed 148 deaths, but emphasized the real number is “significantly higher” and that investigations are still ongoing.

The deadly attacks underscore the growing humanitarian crisis and insecurity in Darfur, as rights groups warn of escalating violence against civilians amid the continued absence of a political resolution to Sudan’s conflict.
