Iran’s Foreign Ministry announced Monday evening that the second round of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington will take place this Saturday in Muscat, Oman, according to state news agency IRNA.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the decision was made following consultations, and the meeting is scheduled for April 19.
The announcement contrasts earlier remarks by the Dutch and Italian foreign ministers, who told AFP that the talks would be held in Rome, indicating a shift in the planned venue.
This upcoming round follows a previous session held last week in Oman, as part of renewed diplomatic efforts to revive discussions on Iran’s nuclear program.
