Araghchi Meets IAEA Chief in Tehran, Urges Neutral Stance Amid Political Pressures

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks on Wednesday in Tehran with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, focusing on enhancing technical cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

According to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the two officials exchanged views on the agency’s technical engagement with Iran and addressed ongoing challenges related to regional developments.

Araghchi stressed that the IAEA must uphold its professional and technical responsibilities independently, without being influenced by unjust political pressures from certain parties. He also urged the agency to adopt a clear and transparent stance regarding threats facing Iran’s nuclear facilities.

During the meeting, Araghchi briefed Grossi on the latest developments in indirect nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington, mediated by Oman.

For his part, Grossi emphasized the importance of maintaining continued interaction and cooperation between the IAEA and Iran to foster mutual trust and promote regional stability.
