Russian Supreme Court Approves Removal of Taliban from Terrorist List

The Russian Supreme Court announced on Thursday that it has approved the removal of the Taliban from its list of terrorist organizations, a symbolic move aimed at strengthening relations between Moscow and Kabul.

The presiding judge stated that “the decision takes effect immediately.”

This decision marks a diplomatic victory for the Taliban, which had been listed as a terrorist organization since 2003, making any communication with it a punishable offense under Russian law.
