A wooden boat capsized in the Democratic Republic of the Congo after a fire broke out, resulting in 50 deaths and hundreds missing.

The incident occurred near Mbandaka while cooking on board the vessel carrying about 400 passengers.

Dozens were rescued, and the injured were taken to hospitals, while rescue teams continue searching for the missing.
