China on Friday denied Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s accusations that it is supplying Russia with lethal weapons in its war against Ukraine, reaffirming its neutral stance and commitment to not providing military support to any party in the conflict.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated in a press conference, “China has never provided lethal weapons to any party in the conflict. The Ukrainian side is fully aware of this,” responding to Zelensky’s claims that Beijing is supplying Moscow with weapons and gunpowder, and even participating in arms manufacturing on Russian soil.
Zelensky had stated on Thursday that Ukrainian intelligence has information indicating that China is supplying Russia with gunpowder and artillery ammunition, and is involved in the production of some weapons within Russia, promising to provide more evidence soon.
