Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed doubts about U.S. intentions on Friday, following his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, just a day before the second round of nuclear talks in Rome.
Araghchi stated that Iran believes there is a possibility of reaching an agreement regarding its nuclear program and hopes that Russia will play a role in that process.
He noted that he sensed seriousness from the United States during the first round of talks held in Oman.
For his part, Lavrov confirmed Russia’s readiness to participate in the negotiations, indicating that Iran is prepared to reach an agreement within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
