Yemen: 58 Killed and 126 Injured in Updated Toll from U.S. Strikes on Ras Isa Port in Al Hudaydah

The Houthi group in Yemen announced on Friday that the death toll from U.S. airstrikes targeting the Ras Isa oil port in Al Hudaydah Governorate has risen to 58 Killed  and 126 injured, according to Al Masirah TV citing the Health Office in Al Hudaydah

Agence France-Presse reported that these strikes, which occurred on Thursday, are among the deadliest since the U.S. began its military campaign against the Iran-backed Houthis.

The U.S. Central Command stated that the strikes aimed to degrade the Houthis’ economic capabilities to protect Red Sea shipping, as the group has intensified attacks on vessels since November 2023, claiming to target ships linked to Israel in protest over the war in Gaza.

These strikes are part of an escalation in U.S. military operations in the region, which began in March, with more than 50 people killed in similar strikes, according to Reuters.
