Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Sunday that President Vladimir Putin did not issue an order to extend the ceasefire in Ukraine, which was announced yesterday in honor of Easter, according to the TASS news agency.
The ceasefire is set to expire at midnight local time (21:00 GMT) on Sunday.
Russian news agencies reported that the Ministry of Defense stated Ukraine violated the Easter ceasefire announced by Putin over 1,000 times, with Ukrainian forces firing on Russian positions 444 times and recording over 900 drone attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia continues to attack Ukraine despite announcing a unilateral truce for Easter.
