Russia Resumes Strikes on Ukraine After Brief Easter Truce

Russia confirmed on Monday that it had resumed military operations against Ukraine following a fragile 30-hour Easter truce, during which both sides accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, forces launched aerial, drone, and artillery strikes on 74 military targets across Ukraine after the truce expired, as reported by Agence France-Presse.

Russia had announced a unilateral ceasefire over the Orthodox Easter weekend, from Saturday evening to early Monday morning. However, both Moscow and Kyiv traded accusations of breaching the truce in several contested front-line areas.

Ukraine has not yet issued an official response to the renewed Russian strikes. Fighting continues in the country’s eastern and southern regions amid an intensifying conflict and stalled international peace efforts.
