Iran: Number of Injured in Bandar Abbas Port Explosion Rises to 406

The number of people injured in the powerful explosion that struck Bandar Abbas Port in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province on Saturday has risen to 406, according to Babak Yektaperest, spokesperson for Iran’s Emergency Organization.

In a press statement, Yektaperest said that four additional ambulances were dispatched from neighboring cities, and that surrounding hospitals are fully prepared to receive the wounded.

Meanwhile, the Hormozgan Crisis Management Authority reported that no fatalities have been recorded so far. Efforts to extinguish the large fire that erupted following the explosion are ongoing.

The explosion occurred earlier today at Bandar Abbas Port, located along the Persian Gulf. The cause of the blast remains unknown, and emergency teams continue to work to contain the situation and secure the area.
