Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that a problem in the European electricity grid caused a widespread power outage in Spain, Portugal, and parts of France.

He urged the public to refrain from speculation, stating that no theory has been ruled out regarding the cause.

Sánchez also thanked the governments of France and Morocco for their assistance in restoring power, noting that the telecommunications sector is in a critical phase.
