Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a long-range artillery strike on the Republican Palace in central Khartoum on Thursday, according to a military source cited by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
The source stated that the shelling originated from the Al-Salha area, located south of Omdurman in Greater Khartoum, and also struck the Ministry of Minerals in the capital’s government district.
This latest escalation comes amid continued clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF, as regional and international efforts to broker a lasting ceasefire remain stalled.
