U.S. President Donald Trump has fired National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and his deputy following a scandal involving the leak of imminent military strike plans against the Houthis in Yemen via the Signal platform.

Trump has asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio to temporarily take over and appointed Mike Waltz as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

These firings come just one hundred days after the new administration took office.
