Iran Announces Postponement of Fourth Round of Indirect Nuclear Talks with U.S. at Oman’s Request

Iran’s Foreign Ministry announced on Friday the postponement of the fourth round of indirect nuclear negotiations with the United States, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday in Rome, following a request from the Omani mediator.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated in an official press release that “new dates will be announced later,” affirming Iran’s continued commitment to diplomacy in order to defend its “legitimate and legal interests” and work toward lifting the sanctions and economic pressure imposed on the country.

Meanwhile, Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi posted on X that the talks were “postponed due to logistical reasons”, adding that a new date would be announced once both sides agree.

The postponed round was expected to address key issues such as uranium enrichment and mechanisms for sanctions relief, as part of ongoing efforts to revive the nuclear deal amid growing regional tensions.
