Kyiv’s European allies have officially backed the establishment of a special tribunal aimed at holding top Russian leaders, including President Vladimir Putin, accountable for the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

During a meeting in Lviv on Friday, European Union foreign ministers approved the tribunal, referred to as the “Lviv statement,” marking the completion of the technical work to draft the legal framework.

This tribunal will seek to bring President Putin and his ministers to justice for their actions during the invasion.
