Iranian Foreign Minister to Visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei announced that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday for talks with senior officials in both countries, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.

Baghaei stated that Araghchi will begin his tour in Riyadh, where he is set to meet with high-ranking Saudi officials (not specified), as part of what he described as Iran’s policy of fostering stronger ties with neighboring states.

Later on Saturday, Araghchi will head to Doha to participate in the Iran-Arab Dialogue Forum, though no specific duration or agenda for the forum was provided.

The visit comes ahead of the fourth round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iran, scheduled to be held in Muscat on Sunday, and just days before U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to the Middle East, which begins Tuesday and runs through May 16.
