U.S. President Donald Trump has called for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, warning of tougher sanctions if the proposed truce is not respected.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that talks regarding the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine are still underway, emphasizing the need for a temporary cessation of hostilities to facilitate negotiations.

“The United States calls for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire as the ideal scenario,” Trump wrote. “If a ceasefire is agreed upon, both Russia and Ukraine will be held accountable for respecting the terms of the negotiations.”
