Pakistan launched a wide-scale military operation against India early Saturday in response to Indian airstrikes targeting three Pakistani airbases just hours earlier.
State-run Pakistan Television (PTV) reported that retaliatory attacks are currently underway, with the military targeting multiple sites inside Indian territory.
In a statement, the Pakistani Army said it had struck a missile storage facility and Indian airbases in Pathankot and Udhampur as part of Operation Solid Shield.
Military sources confirmed that 36 targets in India were hit, including areas in eastern Punjab, as the operation intensified.
In a televised address, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that all Pakistani Air Force assets remain intact, emphasizing that the military is prepared to respond to further aggression.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army launched an assault on Rawalpindi, near the Pakistani capital Islamabad, targeting the Noor Khan Airbase, according to local media reports.
The escalation marks a significant uptick in hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, raising concerns over a potential full-scale conflict in the region.
