Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa Arrives in Bahrain on Official Visit

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa arrived in Bahrain on Saturday, leading an official delegation, marking his sixth visit to an Arab country and the eighth internationally since assuming office, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA via the X platform.

SANA reported that Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of the King of Bahrain, welcomed Al-Sharaa upon his arrival in Manama.

The visit to Bahrain comes as part of Al-Sharaa’s regional and international tour, which began after he assumed office in January 2025. The tour included visits to Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and France.

On December 8, 2024, Syrian opposition factions took control of Damascus, ending 61 years of Baath Party rule and 53 years of Assad family dominance, after a series of military advances across the country.
