President Donald Trump stated in a press conference today that his administration is considering lifting sanctions on Syria following Assad’s ousting.

He highlighted Erdogan’s request for this, expressing a desire to give the new government led by Ahmad al-Shara a fresh start.

However, the U.S. administration has yet to recognize the new government in Damascus officially.
