U.S. President Donald Trump announced his intention to lift sanctions on Syria as soon as possible during the Saudi-American Investment Forum. He affirmed that the sanctions were necessary in the past, but it is time to give Syria “a chance to prosper.”

He revealed an upcoming meeting in Turkey between his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and the transitional Syrian Foreign Minister, Assad Al-Shaibani.

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara is expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia tomorrow, Wednesday, for a 45-minute discussion with Trump.
