Flights Resume at Tripoli’s Mitiga International Airport After Temporary Closure

Flights at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli have resumed as of 10:00 p.m. on Thursday following a temporary suspension due to what authorities described as “emergency circumstances,” according to airport director Ibrahim Salem Farkash.

In an official statement, Farkash confirmed that all necessary safety and operational measures were taken to ensure a smooth and secure resumption of air traffic. He emphasized that the safety of passengers and staff remains the airport’s top priority.

Farkash also noted that scheduled flights would operate normally beginning Friday morning, with no significant disruptions anticipated.

Mitiga International Airport is the main international gateway for the Libyan capital and a vital hub for air transport in the western region of the country, serving thousands of passengers daily.
